Last Days of February 2013

Wow did we ever get socked again less than a week after our last big snow.  Schools were closed and kids and teachers had the day off to enjoy.  I myself settled into a comfy chair after helping to do a little shoveling and worked on my owl cross stitch piece which is almost finished!!! Next time I post you will see a finished and framed piece.  The frame is ordered from my favorite frame maker Dona and should be on it's way in the mail .  I can't wait!!

 So today the roads are clear and my dear friend Marita invited me over to help her with a big project that needed to be done today.  We need to make 66 handmade baby shower invites for her son Joe (Rachel) baby shower in 3 short weeks!! Yikes!!!!  Marita, the smart and crafty woman that she is, quickly went to pinterest and downloaded some neat ideas.

 Here is what she came up with and what we were going to use as the template for our project.  We know they are expecting a boy so we are going to use green and blue for cardstock.

 Here is what we came up with for our first model that we made.  Isn't it just darling!!!

 Here is what the finished invitation looks like!  I think we did great.  Now Marita has the job of address labels and off they will go tomorrow!!!  Job well done if I do say so myself!!

Progress on new owl project

Just a quick post to show the beginning of my new owl project for a friend of mine. I usually don't do pre stamped pieces but she presented me with this kit and asked me to do it for her so she could frame it. It is linen but the tightest and most stiff material I have worked on in awhile.
